How it works : Montelukast is from a group of medicines called leukotriene receptor antagonists (LTRAs). LTRAs work by stopping the chemicals in your body that narrow your airways. These chemicals are called leukotrienes. Montelukast helps stop your airways from narrowing (caused by inflammation).
