How it works : Olmesartan blocks the vasoconstrictor effects of angiotensin II by selectively blocking the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor in vascular smooth muscle. Its action is, therefore, independent of the pathways for angiotensin II synthesis.

USAGE AND SAFETY

Dosage : Olmesartan Medoxomil

Side Effects : Common (may affect up to 1 in 10 people): • Feeling dizzy, headache • Feeling sick, indigestion, diarrhoea, stomach ache, gastroenteritis • Feeling tired • Sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, bronchitis, flu-like symptoms, cough • Pain, particularly in the back, bones or joints • Infection of the urinary tract • Blood in the urine .
